AICE Media Studies

 After recording we had to edit the clips. Tom is are designated editor. The reason we asked Tom was because he had better equipment. He owns a nice personal computer. We assigned him this role a while ago. We had to first send Tom the footage to edit. We recorded it on different cameras. After we gave all the footage to Tom we had to meet with him to edit. It made sense to go to Tom’s because he was the one editing anyway. Benjamin was late to Tom’s house due to traffic. We didn’t delay editing and they just started anyway. When Ben arrived we had only gotten a little work done. We had cut some of the clips for the video. We did transitions in are filming so we didn’t have to edit them in. We only did this for some of the clips not all of them so we still had to make the transitions. While capcut made are editing process faster we still did not finish and will have to work more later in the week.

 Today everything did not go as smoothly as before. Last time we all made it to the meeting place but this time it did not go as well. I was not able to make it to the recording spot on time because there was traffic. This delayed are recording. Eventually I made it to the recording spot. We procrastinated filming a bit doing other stuff but eventually started. We began setting up to record. We recorded at Benjamin's house and continued where we left off from the Uber scene. We chose to end filming there because it would allow us to smoothly change locations the next day. For the next scene it still had to be raining so we set it up for that. We do a scene where we all enter Ben's house which we also had to set up the camera in advance. After that the camera goes to inside the house and there is a time skip. We finished up the last few scenes without incidents. We had to retry some of them due to small mess ups such as breaking character. We will have to edit the footage later

Last week we chose the day to meet for filming. Today we were all able to make it to are meeting place. We met at a park to film. When we met at the park we had to prepare to film. We all came in our casual clothes that we didn't mind getting wet. We gave ourselves different roles for filming but we all helped each other out in the end. This was because we each needed to learn the different tools. When we were filming it went very smoothly for most of it. We were figuring things out as we went. We had done all the planning in advance but actually going according to plan was harder the it seemed. The first scene the establishing shot was simple and it was just the beginning to are music video. All three of us were in this scene so we had to setup are camera. The second scene also went smoothly but setting up the rain was a bit difficult. I entered in the third scene and became an actor. After Tom entered in the fourth scene. We attempted to film this weekend and it did not work out. Though we were ready to film we still had to reschedule due to other difficulties. We all have completed are before filming roles but due to myself and Tom we could not make it. I had a trip planned for this weekend to indianapolis. Tom was also on a family trip. This meant we had to change are filming date and make it the following weekend. This won't affect are group much because we had a little bit of excess time. We all agreed to reschedule it next weekend. This may work out better for our group as we will have more time to plan are filming. While we have most of are filming planned there is still some stuff we could improve on  as a group. 10 We have been communicating well as a group which has helped us even through we have had unforeseen circumstances. We began deciding are roles in the group. As we had not decided them yet we were unable to film this weekend. Another reason we could not film was due us needing further preparation. My role for this weekend because we weren't filming was to acquire props. Props are a necessary part of music videos. We had already done some research on the props we had chosen. I found many things in my own house that I could use. Certain I was unable to find but for most of it I got it in my house. The few things I was unable to find at home I eventually found in a store. Even after searching some stores there were still things I was unable to find. This shouldn't affect are music video to much as I was able to find some alternatives. These props were not very crucial to the video but they would be nice to have. Some of them I was able to make. For are clothing I had to get things that could get wet. The theme of are music video involves water so clothing for water was crucial. They also had to

 Establishing shot of the basketball court while its raining. Everyone standing in different places, not talking. Benjamin pulls out an umbrella and goes out in the rain. Cut to Uber app on his phone.  Nicolas walks over to Benjamin while he's holding the umbrella and starts talking. Tom walks over to the other two and starts talking to them. Benjamin's Uber pulls up and he asks his friends if they wanna go with him. They agree and once everyone is in the car they drive off. The car pulls up to a house and everyone gets out. Tom and Nicolas follow Benjamin inside the house. The group sits down on a couch and starts playing games. Cut to a SpongeBob type scene that says "2 hours later". Tom decides to get up and check the weather outside. It is sunny outside. A montage of the group walking around the city. The three new friends approach the basketball court together smiling in the sunlight. The final scene is the basketball flying into the basket . 

 We started by trying to decide on our song for our music video. We wanted something strong and with meaning. We also felt it should be able to be molded into something we were proud of. we looked around for a while and decided on the song. We chose Umbrella by Beyoncé. We felt it would be a good match for us and our vision. For the video we only need a couple of simple props. We are going to use an umbrella and a hose. We will use the umbrella to shield us from the water we are using from the hose to simulate rain. For costumes we will be wearing casual clothing which we feel is not too important to get wet. We will try to do it when it is raining or cloudy. If we can't do that, then we will do it later in the day when the sun is not as high up so that it fits the environment for the video we have for the video. We are planning on doing it at one of our backyards as the grass and trees will help sell the fact that we are in the rain like how we want. Our backup plan is to go to a

I am working in a group of three for my blog. My three group members are my friends from my school. I have known them for a very long time. I have worked for them on different projects in the past and we have worked well together. There names are Tom and Benjamin. I put a photo of the three of us in this blog post. It would be difficult to work with group members I don't know well because meeting up with them would be hard. I also wouldn't know there skills in different subjects. I know what my friends are good at so that will be very helpful later on in the project. I also prefer having group mates that I get along with well. Lastly the reason I decided to work in a group is because I could assign tasks based on group members strengths. The song we decided on is Umbrella by Beyonce. I enjoy listening to this song a lot and it has meaningful lyrics. These lyrics will make it easier to base a music video off. Lyrics are important because it is what the video will be based off. T

My name is Nicolas Williams I live with my mom, dad, and sister. I was inspired to take media studies because my mom is a graphic designer. I have a lot of different hobbies that I enjoy doing on the weekends and during the week. I go to the gym every weekday because it makes me feel good. I enjoy watching TV shows that are popular. TV has also inspired me to take media studies so I can see how movies are made. I've done swimming for 6 years and I liked it a lot, but I have stopped doing it this year to take a break and focus on other sports I enjoy. I did MMA and Jujitsu and enjoyed them a lot, but I got injured a lot and had to stop. Another sport I like is mountain biking because it is a very fast paced and fun sport. I have continued doing it for about three years now and usually do it on weekends. I also ride bikes with my friends during the week also.
